An introduction to ballet and creative movement, including French ballet terminology, musical awareness, balance, agility and coordination.

Young dancers will continue developing their ballet and creative movement skills while learning French ballet terminology, musical awareness, balance, agility and coordination.

Rokaya Duval-Lanteigne 

Rokaya Duval-Lanteigne began her professional dance training at the age of 11. She completed the seven-year program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School before becoming an aspirant with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB), where she had the opportunity to dance and tour with the company.

After three years performing with the RWB, Rokaya moved to Moncton in 2003, where she was contracted with the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada for three seasons. In 2007, she moved to Calgary to dance with Alberta Ballet and also performed as a guest dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

After retiring from professional performance in 2008, Rokaya became Associate Director and Ballet Mistress of DancEast. Throughout her teaching career, she has also had the opportunity to guest teach at numerous dance schools, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with dancers of all ages.

Rokaya began teaching with Dance Creation Studio in 2017 and currently serves as the Head Ballet Mistress for their Classical Ballet Conservatory.

With an impressive background in professional performance, teaching and artistic leadership, Rokaya brings a wealth of experience and passion to her students. She is dedicated to developing strong technical foundations while helping dancers build confidence, artistry and a lifelong love of dance.
